CNC Folding & Press Brake Forming

We fold sheet and plate on a 175-tonne, 5-axis CNC Durma press brake at our Frankton workshop in Queenstown. It folds up to 3050mm long and up to 10mm thick, with consistent angles and tight tolerances, so parts match the architectural drawings without adjustment on site.

Capacity

  • Maximum fold length 3050mm
  • Up to 10mm plate with our current tooling, including 10mm steel at 3 metres
  • 5 CNC-controlled axes for complex, repeatable bends across large runs
  • Regularly folding aluminium, brass, stainless steel and corten

Why fold instead of fabricate from sections

Forming parts from flat sheet means holes, slots and tabs are designed in CAD, cut on our fibre laser and then folded into shapes that would be impractical or expensive to build from box section or angle. Locating tabs and slots cut setup time in fabrication, and you're not limited to the standard lengths metal suppliers stock.
