Fibre Laser Cutting in Queenstown

FOCAL runs a 6kW Bodor fibre laser at our workshop at 19 Margaret Place, Frankton, Queenstown. We cut mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper to ±0.1mm, for our own architectural projects and supply-only for builders, joiners and fabricators.

What we cut

  • Mild steel up to 25mm thick
  • Stainless steel up to 16mm thick
  • Aluminium up to 12mm thick
  • Brass and copper sheet
  • Sheets up to 4000mm × 2000mm
  • Cut accuracy ±0.1mm, clean edges, no dross, repeatable across full production runs

How to order

Email a DXF with the material, thickness and quantity to george@focalqt.com. Our guide to preparing DXF files for laser cutting covers line types, layers and kerf. We aim to have quotes back within a week. Jobs that need design work first can take longer.

Cut, fold and finish in one workshop

Laser-cut parts go straight to our CNC press brake, welding bay and finishing in the same building, so there's no freight between suppliers. Holes, slots and locating tabs drawn at the CAD stage are cut on the laser and then formed and welded, which keeps fabrication time and cost down. We can freight finished parts anywhere in New Zealand.
